ARENA 1 Exhibit Opening: "Women Look Out"

Women Look Out might also be titled Look Out, Women. The one suggests how the gaze of these photographers is not simply focused outward but on the viewers as well who are asked to join in looking at and also out for their subjects. The other suggests that the world needs to look out because women are present as agents in their own right. The six female artists in the exhibition are founders of or have crated their projects to support a cause that benefits from their photographs. In their images the artists bring into focus issues of global and national human rights and examples of important work being done for peace and social justice.
