In a push to get more people out of their cars to help alleviate traffic congestion and cut down on carbon emissions, the City of Santa Monica has introduced #CarFreeFriday in which residents, visitors and employees are being asked to leave their cars at home on October 7 and instead find more sustainable means of getting around the City by the Sea.
You can get involved in three fun ways:
• Get your neighbors, friends, students, employees and customers excited about #CarFreeFriday.
• Businesses are invited to put up a GoSaMo window sticker to help customers navigate the closest Big Blue Bus stop, Expo station, or Breeze station.
• Organize a local tryathlon – an adventure by foot, bike, or transit.
Let everyone know how you plan to participate by completing this short form.
