Town Hall Los Angeles hosts The Hon. Ronald M. George, Retired Chief Justice, Su
The Supreme Court of California saw many changes while Ronald M. George served as Chief Justice. Many will remember Chief Justice George for his decision in 2008 granting same-sex couples the right to marry (which was overturned six months later by Proposition 8) as well as his consolidation of the courts to streamline the system. How did he reach his decisions? What can he share about leading the state's highest court, a court that serves more than 38 million people - 12.5% of the United States population? And what are his views today on current legal issues, now that he has stepped down from the bench?
Chief Justice Ronald M. George will look back at his legal and judicial career, including behind-the-scenes stories and personal anecdotes. He will also sign his new book, "Chief: The Quest for Justice in California." MCLE credit available (approval pending) - sign up at registration.
